Q: What is a Ringtone?
A: Ringtones are digital files that let you customize the sound your phone makes when you receive a call. shop.muchmusic.com gives you access to a wide array of tones based on your favourite current and classic songs.

Q: What is the difference between Monophonic, Polyphonic and Truetone ringtones?
A: Ringtones are created using the notes or sounds that one or more instruments contribute to a song. Monophonic ringtones rely on one instrument, or "voice" to mimic the song and are usually based on the lead vocal line or melody that identifies it. Polyphonic files simulate more than one instrument in the song, so youll be able to hear a more realistic representation of the vocal line, guitars, keyboards and drums when your phone rings! A TrueTone is the latest version of a ringtone which uses the actual audio track to reproduce a ringtone that sounds like the actual song.

Q: Why can't I get TrueTones for my phone?
A: Unfortunately, not all types of content are available to all handsets and carriers. To download TrueTones, your phone must be capable of playing them back. Consult your manual to see if you have a TrueTone (mp3) capable phone.

Q: What is a MuchShop Coupon and how do I use it?
A: From time to time you may win a free ringtone or graphic for your phone to be redeemed at The MuchShop. To redeem a coupon, simply log in to the site (or create a profile if you don't have one yet) and enter the coupon code in the field provided. Once a coupon has been redeemed, you can use it for any appropriate content while completing the purchase process on your mobile phone.

Q: I don't have a plan, but use pre-paid service. Can I download ringtones and images?
A: Downloads are available to all subscribers who have a download capable phone. If you are a "pre-pay" customer, you will need to have a balance in your account to cover the price of the selection(s) you wish to download.

Q: Can I transfer existing ringtones or images from my current phone to another phone?
A: Unfortunately downloaded selections cannot be transferred from one phone to another, even if you replace your phone.

Q: Can I assign a specific ringtone or image to phone numbers stored in my phonebook?
A: You can assign ringtones and images to callers in your phonebook on some phones. Check your User's Manual for more information.

Q: How many ringtones or images can my phone store?
A: Storage varies based on your specific phone model. Find out your phone's storage capacity by referencing the documentation on your carrier's website (see above.)

If your phone's storage capacity is full and you begin to download another item, you will be asked if you want to delete one of the previous downloaded items stored in your phone. Once you delete a ringtone or image, it will be permanently removed from your phone and you'll need to re-purchase and re-download it. If you choose not to complete the new download, you will not be charged for it.

Q: How do I begin to use my new ringtone or graphic?
A: Like each of you, every model of phone is unique. If you are having trouble accessing your new downloads, you should refer to your user manual (you know, that book you tossed in a drawer when you brought your new phone home.) If all else fails, visit your carrier's website.
